Diabetes is a constant threat to the life of many people all over the world. Most people are now living with diabetes without having to worry about losing their life. This is possible thanks to different types of medications that are used in reducing the symptoms that come with having diabetes. However, what makes people fear diabetes is the fact that it might lead to other health complications. One of these health complications is Retinotherapy, a condition that affects the eye.

Diabetic Retinopathy occurs when the blood vessels of the light sensitive tissues of your eyes are damaged. These blood vessels are usually located at the back of your eyes i.e. Retina. Diabetic Retinopathy will mostly affect people who have type 1 and type 2 diabetes. To avoid this complication, you will have to seek medical attention whenever you detect any problem with your eyes.

There are two type of Diabetic Retinopathy that a person may suffer from i.e.early diabetic Retinopathy and Advanced diabetic Retinopathy. Early diabetic Retinopathy is the most common type of Retinopathy that most people experience. This type of eye complication is brought about when the walls of your Retina weaken.

On the other hand Advanced Diabetic Retinopathy occurs when the blood vessels in your eyes close of. This in turn leads to the growth of abnormal blood vessels in the Retina. If not properly handles, it will end up causing the Retina to detach from the back of your eye. It is for this reason that you should look for medical attention whenever you detect any problem with your eyes. This is regardless of whether you are suffering from Early Diabetic Retinopathy or Advanced Diabetic Retinopathy.

Most people who have Diabetic Retinopathy will not experience any signs and symptoms during the early stages. However, as the eye complication progresses, you will start experience some symptoms. Some of the symptoms include: Loss of vision, Impaired color vision, Dark strings that float in your vision, Dark areas in your vision, and Blurred vision.

You should seek the help of your doctor whenever you notice any of the above symptoms. Failure to this, you might end up losing your vision after a couple of months or years. Your doctor will then have to examine this condition to determine the real reason behind it.

Your doctor will then come up with a treatment method after determining the real reason behind Retinopathy. Most doctors will recommend an early diabetic retinopathy as treatment for Retinopathy.
